 Uttarakhand Open University
Uttarakhand Open University (Hindi: उत्तराखंड मुक्त विश्वविद्यालय) is located in the city of Haldwani in the State of Uttarakhand. This is the only Open University in the State.
The University was established by an Act Of Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly on 31st October 2005with a view to democratize education, so that it covers large segments of population, vocations and professions. Uttarakhand Open University is the only Open University in Uttarakhand
Karnataka State Open University was formally established on June 1, 1996 under the Karnataka State Open University Act of 1992, with the objectives of introducing and promoting the system of open university and distance learning, and coordinating and determining the standard of such a system.
The university has its headquarters in Mysore, India and is the 8th Open University to be established in India.
